I just bought an external USB 2.0 Lacie Blu-ray burner and just burned my very first 25 GB data disc -> onto a TDK BD-R 25 GB Blu-ray blank. It seems to work! I used Roxio Create 8.2 XE (along with a Lacie Blu-ray burner). Everything went very smoothly, but it took a VERY VERY LONG time (like hours to write 23GB of data). I'm not interested in filming, so I didn't test it. I'm interested in permanent, write-once backups of large amounts of data (e.g. my iTunes MP3 collection). make sure I didn't have to carry my old DVD burner around. Also works great. This has been tested more closely -> I put the burned DVD in another computer and it was read perfectly. —Brian W., Palo Alto, California.
