I had two of these steps. The first required me to have additional legs welded to the bottom of my aluminum trailer. Unfortunately, 5 years later, when reversing with my trailer, I got stuck on a tree stump and bent completely. Doesn't matter. The new one was on its way to me, arrived a few days later and bolted on from the original step. The exchange lasted 15 minutes. The old stage has held up well despite being exposed to salt on the streets where I live. It always worked the same from day one until 5 years later. My only complaint (and it's a small one) is that you have to grab the step in the right place to pull it out with ease. Pull off a little from the center and it will get stuck and you'll have to try again. The same goes for the step retreat. Another small concern. After 5 years with him I am satisfied with the step.
