Review on HICTOP V2 Flexible Platform - Ender 3 (235x235mm) by Keith Alvord

This thing is awesome (K)

Arrived quickly, well packaged and in good condition; There was a free nozzle included - a nice little surprise! I've read a lot about PEI build surfaces in online 3D printer groups I belong to, so I decided to take the plunge. This mounting surface has a thickness of 0.5 mm. I took it out of the box, washed it with hot soapy water, rinsed it, dried it and put it on the printer. My printer (Creality Ender 3 Pro) has a factory magnetic backing so I didn't have to install the one that came with this HICTOP PEI build sheet. Because this surface is thinner than my previous surface, I had to re-level the table. The printable side is the textured side, which has a similar finish to 120-grit sandpaper. Speaking of liability – phenomenal! With large, thin objects and tiny objects with little buildplate contact, adhesion is key, and this bed handled it flawlessly. To give you an idea of its adhesion, I ALWAYS remove the cleaning line at the beginning of a print; Not on this surface though - while the bed is heated to 60C the flush line gets stuck there so tight I can't get it off! The same goes for the printed part - it doesn't move when the bed heats up. I saw no elephant legs, no warping/lifting, everything I printed stayed flat on the surface and stuck to it like it was nailed. But as if by magic, when the bed cools to room temperature, you just take a piece as if someone just walked by and put it there; No pop or velcro, no peek or pinch, just take it. It's really adorable. The platform provides an imprint with a bottom layer surface comparable to flexible magnetic platforms. This is a fantastic item and will be my only worktop in the future. Highly recommended! The only downside is that there is very little burr felt around the edge, so be careful when handling.
