Tragic quality control

My unit lasted all of about 300 seconds of total operating time before seizing up. The load was all of 2 ounces, requiring 6 inches of travel. Worked fine the first day as I was assembling and testing. Then, coming back 3 days later to use it was totally locked up. I swapped in another NEMA17 stepper and that worked perfect, so my controls and electrical are all fine. I tried working the motor by hand once disconnected and, at first, it wouldn't rotate at all, Eventually, it began to rotate but

Pros
  • 2mm pitch, 4 starts, 8mm lead
Cons
  • The increased power of the motor may create additional noise or vibrations during operation

Elegoo can suck my out of stock ass

Works as a replacement for elegoo mars since elegoo didn't want to warranty their machine. Have to adjust the firmware but works better than stock i think.

Pros
  • Works perfectly, 1.3A current limit (would be cool to add it to product description).
Cons
  • The motor may be too powerful for smaller or less advanced machines, causing damage or malfunctions

Motor didn't work. Very Disappointed.

Motor wouldn't run. I tried using multiple controllers with no luck. It would twitch, but wouldn't run. I had to open up the motor and solder the windings to the correct pins to get the motor work properly. I don't know if this was a mistake on their part or maybe I missed something about the windings and pin order in the description.

Pros
  • worked great
Cons
  • The motor may be difficult to install for novice users or those without technical experience

Photon Replacement on my review.

I purchased this to attempt and replace an Anycubic Photon motor. Once hooked up, the motor would only grind and not move. I'm not sure if it was the proper motor to replace it but I figured the motor would do at least something other than stutter and grind.

Pros
  • Great motors, lead screws are straight.
Cons
  • The price point is higher than some comparable products in the market

Go elsewhere for my opinion

Faulty straight out the box. Connected up and attempted to home on the 3D printer. Binds in both directions. What a waste.

Pros
  • Screw looks perfect, motor works fine. I used it for a retrofit on a Monoprice Select Mini Pro.
Cons
  • Too tall, which I would be okay with, but thread pattern/pitch doesn't match for the parts to work with.

i'm posting here to help out anyone else with this machine, because the only mod instructions that exist document the use of a longer lead screw and the need for cutting it to length.this 210mm length does not require cutting, but the original screws are not long enough so you will need (10x) 10mm-M3 screws for the brass nut and mounting adapter: //thingiverse com thing:2199805

Pros
  • Great replacement for the Z axis of prusa i3 3d printers
Cons
  • The added weight and size of the motor may make it difficult to fit into some machine designs

Purchased for a work project and it has been very reliable

This motor was purchased to be the main component for at project at work. It moves an important piece back and forth along the axis. This motor was easy to setup with an Arduino Mega 2560 and A4988 driver. Once I wired it up to have constant power supply it sounds very clean when it moves. I will purchase more of these if the project grows and I need more.

Pros
  • {}
Cons
  • The built-in lead screw may require additional maintenance or cleaning to prevent buildup or debris

Will NOT fit any Anycubic Resin Printer

Was attempting to change out my motor from a Anycubic 6k. The threading is very different, and the mount they provided doesn't match the clip one from Anycubic. I was under the impression this was universal. Must go through Anycubic support for a new motor.

Pros
  • 3D Printer Motors
Cons
  • The NEMA 17 motor may not be compatible with some third-party software or control boards

15mm too long for Photon S

Stepper motor works with the Photon S but it is 15mm too long so I had to drill a hole in the aluminum plate at the top. Also the wiring isn't correct off the line so make sure you swap the two center wires. Other than that these motors are perfect.

Pros
  • Very well packaged in protective foam box. Rod was straight and unbent with a good thread.
Cons
  • The built-in 400mm T8 lead screw may not be long enough for some users' needs
