Worked great and quiet!

Installed into my anycubic i3 mega and works perfectly after over 30 hours of printing. Way more quiet than the original drivers installed and I have them set to .85v but may need to bump it up to about 1v still testing out a few settings.

Pros
  • The DORHEA V1.2 module is compact and lightweight, so it won't take up much room on your controller board
Cons
  • The TMC2208 drivers may require frequent maintenance or cleaning to keep them functioning properly

1 out of 5 was DOA on my review.

Drivers run great but one failed right out of the box though. It was for the second extruder so I just swapped in an old 4988 but still frustrating

Pros
  • These drivers are compatible with a variety of controller boards, including RAMPS1.4, MKS, Prusa I3, Ender-3 Pro and more, making them versatile and adaptable to your specific needs
Cons
  • The DORHEA V1.2 module may be prone to interference or conflicts with other components on the controller board

Well worth it best in my review

Even though I have to do some soldering for my specific install, was amazed at how well the worked and how quiet they made my machine!

Pros
  • The adapter comes with stackable headers, so you can use it direct on your 3D printer board. The tester is pre-configured for standalone operation on an USB to serial adapter (VIO-VM jumper closed).
Cons
  • The DORHEA V1.2 module may not fit properly on all types of controller boards, causing compatibility issues

Bad right out of the box

I got my first set installed how i have on other 3dprinters with updated farmwear. The stepper divers went pop and ended up having to replace my main board and exchanged the divers. installed the new set of drivers in to my main board with updated farmwear and same thing happened so now I have to replace my main board again. Not to happy about the whole situation. they kept telling me I was doing something wrong. that line might work on people that haven't done many driver swaps in other…

Pros
  • The TMC2208 drivers offer quiet and efficient operation, which means less noise and smoother print quality
Cons
  • The TMC2208 drivers may not be powerful enough to handle large or complex prints, limiting their usefulness to some users

Solid Upgrade for my opinion

Just wanted to throw in my 2 cents: Probably the best upgrade to a stock Chiron printer. Removed 4 screws on the bottom, popped the old ones out, put these in. I opted to change the order of the wires rather than mess with the firmware, then it was a simple matter of checking the voltages with a multimeter (I just stuck with about 1.15 and its going ok). It's all unbelievably silent now, and my first test print came out looking great.

Pros
  • The TMC2208 drivers are a cost-effective upgrade that can significantly improve your printer's performance, accuracy, and speed
Cons
  • The pack may not come with any sort of warranty or guarantee, leaving users at risk for defective or malfunctioning TMC2208 drivers

Very Quiet: my feedback

I did a test of these vs an A4988. Wow a major difference. After I tuned the current to just above what I needed I couldn’t even hear the steppers.

Pros
  • I have used the TMC2208 in several projects; y'all offering them in 5 packs is the bees knees!
Cons
  • Installing the TMC2208 drivers may require technical knowledge and expertise that some users may not possess

Solid Upgrade: my feedback

Comes with the larger heat sinks which is a plus (these run hotter than the usual A4988). So quiet I had to visually check if printer parts were moving. Easy drop-in replacement for Tevo Tornado. Highly recommend!

Pros
  • Improved my prints and made CNY printer quieter!!
Cons
  • I put them in and turned on my printer and they killed my board

Works on my MKS Gen L 3D printer board!

So much happier now! For installation guidance, see Teaching Tech on YT part 2 video. These are quiet and best yet, prints noticeably faster with better quality than the original, noisy steppers that would miss steps every so often. Get these. Best price on ebay, and a true upgrade to your 3D printer.

Pros
  • 3D Printer Parts & Accessories
Cons
  • The DORHEA V1.2 module may not be as durable or long-lasting as other options on the market

I was able to easily replace the stock (cheap and noisy) stepper drivers for my FLSUN QQ. Just what I needed. The TMC2208 drivers may not integrate well with certain firmware or software, causing glitches or errors.

Best upgrade I have made to my 3D printer

Stepper drivers were easy to install on my Geeetech A30. Just needed to adjust the voltage, no firmware updates required. Made a huge difference in quieting the printer and noticeably improved print quality. I would recommend these drivers.

Pros
  • Silent motors. No noise
Cons
  • It took me a while to troubleshoot that one was DOA.

Quieted down my Anycubic Mega X Printer

Fit for Anycubic Mega X 3D printer (the one with roughly 15" cube print volume). Look up and follow a guide and you'll have a quiet machine in no time. The only thing making noise on mine now if the fans, but those are MUCH more expensive to replace.

Pros
  • They are backed by a manufacturer's warranty, ensuring that you can buy with confidence and peace of mind
Cons
  • Some users may prefer to use alternative means of controlling their 3D printer, such as a Raspberry Pi or similar device, limiting the usefulness of the TMC2208 drivers and DORHEA V1.2 module

Check your product - my new review

I needed these for my ender 3, the screw driver was either too big or too small to adjust the volts, and some of the volts +s were ruined so i had to use a flat head and some of the pins were bent. 6/10

Pros
  • With this adapter you can test your SilentStepStick or flash the TMC2208 SilentStepStick with an USB-to-serial converter.
Cons
  • The screwdriver included may not be suited for all tasks associated with the installation and calibration of the TMC2208 drivers

2 out of 5 died in one month

The steppers are working just fine for my X and y axis, but after adjusting the POTS for power on the Z axis motors, both failed within a day of each other. the other three are functioning just fine. They are randomly jumping from .1 volts to 2.2 volts on out V+ channel. Luckily it doesn't look like any damage to by steppers. I have put in the old 4988 drivers for the Z axis. Much louder, but they are working!

Pros
  • The included screwdriver makes installation quick and easy, even for those with limited experience
Cons
  • The TMC2208 drivers may produce erratic or inconsistent prints if not calibrated properly

This kit almost silenced my Mega S, but I was having Y-shift on every layer. I went in to adjust the voltage on the Y driver and my hand slipped, shorting the driver instantly. Seems like a big oversight to not include a ceramic screwdriver or a spare driver module, especially when most other modules do. Otherwise pleased, so I'm leaving 4 stars.

Pros
  • Super quiet, almost can't hear the motors
Cons
  • The pack of 5 may be more than some users need, meaning they may end up with unused drivers taking up space

A recommended upgrade. Even better in UART mode.

I'm using mine with an Anycubic Mega S. They work great. So much quieter. I waited a couple of months to install them as I wanted to be confident in the printer and my own ability. It was pretty easy. I did wind up using some other "low profile" heatsinks (spare raspberry pi kit) instead of the included ones as they were too tall for my fan arrangement. I do recommend upgrading the driver fan. I set the VRef to around .85 volts from the factory 1.1 volt. You can attach the leads of your meter…

Pros
  • They made my printer so quiet I forget it's running
Cons
  • The TMC2208 stepper motor drivers may not be compatible with certain 3D printers, meaning users may have to purchase additional hardware

Dissapointed: my feedback

One of the drivers has a bad potentiometer, it spins all the way around. The screwdrivers that come with them are cheap and don’t even fit the screws on the drivers. I had to buy one that fir. Won’t buy again for sure

Pros
  • No extra wiring, plug and play, check firmware. Works like a charm.
Cons
  • The heat sink on the DORHEA V1.2 module may not be sufficient for high-intensity printing, potentially leading to overheating and damage

It's so quiet you can hear someone fart!

Theses stepper motors were an easy drop in replacement for my pyramid A1 I had to order two sets of stepper drivers as one of the 5 back was defective and could not be tuned with my machines vref. I solved this by ordering a 2 pack of the same drivers and bam we were good to go.Had to update the review as they have started going out and it's only been 8 months 🙃. They are getting replaced by TMC2209 now.

Pros
  • They have a wide input voltage range and can handle up to 2.0A peak current, providing plenty of power for larger prints
Cons
  • The screwdriver included may not be able to handle heavy use and may break or wear out easily

Revainrating 5 out of 5

super quiet for my opinion

Took a chance and installed these on my Anycubic I3 Mega. It is so much quieter, and the motors are also running cooler. I adjusted them to 0.85 and reversed the wires. Also added a fan duct while I was in there. At $19 shipped this is a no-brainer.

Pros
  • The DORHEA V1.2 module comes with a heat sink to dissipate heat and prevent damage to the drivers
Cons
  • The pack may contain drivers of varying quality, meaning some may perform better than others

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Worked good on my review.

Works good just didn't know the main board was bad and fried 1 of them lesson learned on my part. Check the board before installing something that you think is the culprit

Pros
  • Had to sauter the pin for uart and wish there was more documentation but work great so far
Cons
  • Some users may prefer to use alternative stepper motor drivers that are better-suited to their printing needs
