Review on Pooxtra Inverter Converter Controller Emergency by Michael Tucker

Revainrating 5 out of 5

So far, so good!

Works well, good complete set. It is supplied with 2 pairs of 16mm² battery cables rated AWG 6 (100A open wire). This gives a maximum total line capacity of 200 amps at 12 volts. They are fastened to the back of the device with sufficiently long screws, lock washers and nuts. The supplied color-coded cables are approximately 46 cm long. The remote control is hardwired with a standard RJ45 network cable. They come with a 5m Cat 5e cable. If you need more length, you can get more of this regular cable. The remote control has a power on-off function and shows the battery voltage status. The inverter resides in my solar backup system, which consists of two 160W panels and three 100Ah deep cycle batteries. It runs my full-size microwave, hair dryer, or heater at full blast with no issues. Cables do not heat up under such loads. It runs everything I need to run on reserve power. The specified nominal output voltage is 110 VAC. A heater that draws 1365 watts from a household outlet will draw 1150 watts from this inverter at 108 VAC. Same goes for my full size microwave which works fine but with slightly less heat output. I find this derating to be preferable for battery use in general. The developers deliberately opted for an output voltage of 110 VAC for this device. Note that the 1365 watt load in my example produces a net draw of 125 amps for the 12 volt batteries, while the reduced power of 1150 watts means a net draw of 105 amps, a situation I prefer.
