He was raising the pH too slowly. When replacing the tank, it is important that the level is as close as possible to the original tank. Adding a small amount at a time means your pH isn't designed for that amount of time. I think the stress of changing tanks is serious enough when you add even more stress to get them to adjust to the fluctuating water levels. If I do a partial water change, the new water will EXACTLY match the reservoir. This product does not allow this. I REALLY wanted this to work. I hate powder buffers that add too much sediment.
