This brush is worth the investment. The tip stays sharp while painting, unlike the cheaper big brushes. It's great for dampening paper and creating large strokes, as well as working with the end to create fine lines. I use this brush and a much smaller brush for all my watercolor work. work as they are all I need. Taklon is a synthetic brush fiber that works better than natural hair because it's designed for painting. All my brushes are taklon now. I will not buy another fiber in the brush. None of them shed or discolor like a natural fiber.
