UPDATE September 28: 5 months later and the flimsy plastic broke. I had concerns when I first bought the mug. But I figured my cautious lifestyle would win the day. nope The mug is vulnerable in a few key areas. The ones with bows. The plastic used is too weak for short-term regular use. After only 5 months, the lid is unusable. Look at the picture and you will understand what I mean. Had they chosen a more durable material I would still enjoy a product from one of my favorite Japanese companies. Now I need to look for another company that I can trust for my commute. Original April Post: Some people find it "weird" that when drinking from a mug, your nose is likely to touch the lid. Most of the time I don't even notice the contact, and if I do, it doesn't really bother me. I focus on drinking from a cup, not how my nose drinks a cup. Other than that, this mug is awesome! 12 ounces is all I need. I go to the coffee shop and ask them to fill it up. EVEN WITH THE LID OPEN, the coffee stays hot for several hours. Correctly. I didn't say closed, but open keeps my coffee hot for hours. In fact, I have to leave it open for at least 30 minutes or my coffee stays too hot for too long and I can't enjoy it right away. I've had it for about 2 months now. I use it every Saturday/Sunday morning at my local coffee shop. The mug is easy to wash. There are several parts that can be easily taken apart. It also fits perfectly in the outside pocket of my Timbuk2 shoulder bag.
