Better use a wrench to tighten the brake cylinders. However, as other reviewers have also pointed out, the socket design is slightly different from the picture in the description, so something has changed. I have rarely braked in a cage and have a feeling this outlet will last with my limited use. Works as intended with a ratchet but I would be suspicious of constant impact use. Jammed the brakes on my truck when it wouldn't start and still looks new. I wouldn't hesitate to buy this to keep in my tool box if you have an air brake truck, but would look elsewhere if you're a brake specialist and love your action.
