Attention buyers! The main description should state that it is CCA or copper clad aluminum. At $0.299 per foot, this wire is overpriced. The regular wholesale price for direct burial 12 AWG solid stranded copper wire is $0.30 per foot. I'm not saying that the seller advertised the wire in error, but it appears to have been the case. Whereas most low voltage strip lights use 72 watts or less at 5 meters. 72 watts at 12 volts are still 6 amps! This is the maximum rating for pure copper wire. Typically, aluminum or copper-aluminum is half that of pure copper wire. I'm by no means a licensed electrician or electrical engineer, but I can tell you that this wire can pose a fire hazard. More so than comparable copper wire, at least, and for that reason I'll be returning this sketchy wire for UL or ETL listed copper wire.
