I noticed that we use a little more gas than usual. Our gas bills were a little higher than last year. It made no sense. I didn't smell a gas leak in the house, but I thought I smelled something on the porch. I thought I'd try this gas detector, maybe it would sense something. I put in fresh batteries and walked around the house (inside and out). When I got to this spot on the porch, the detector was very noisy and all the lights were on. I immediately called the gas company. We arrived, checked the results and immediately turned off the gas. It turned out that a gas line had burst under the concrete porch. This little detector is one of the best things I've bought. Worth every penny.
