I really like the seat. The rest of the chair is garbage. The hydraulics don't extend very high, and by any stretch of the imagination this can't be considered a drafting chair or extended height. But that's THAT height they revealed (28 inches) so that's not my problem. My problem is the base and especially the footrest. It is plastic and three-point. No matter where you push it, it flexes and feels cheap as hell. The wheels are good but the shape of the base makes it difficult to move even on this rug. It is essentially a desk chair for use on a hard surface without the use of a footrest. As my requirements are very different I actually used my old chair frame and hydraulics with the seat cushion (it's great and just a solid piece with good lumbar support). For my particular circumstances, I got it to work beautifully as all I really needed was a new seat. My old drafting chair is from 2007 and the cushion is finally worn enough that I can feel the plastic support under the cushion (I'm only 180lbs so it's definitely worn) and thankfully the rest of the chair, right down to the hydraulics , in excellent condition. shape while still maintaining full-scale pressure. I threw away the rest of the chair as it's complete junk, but most people won't have that luxury. This chair is half what they charge for its overall quality. The base and footrest are both surprisingly poor.
