I was really looking forward to this heater that will save me from the cold in the basement. and it seems like it would be great if there wasn't a flaw in the design that might not be good for life expectancy and could even be a potential safety hazard. I really don't want to return it, but I don't know what I'm going to do yet. Oddly enough, the defect is related to a feature that isn't mentioned in the product description or even the instructions - this heater has a low and a high temperature setting and automatically switches from high to low when it gets close to the temperature you're on Digitally selected have control. How tidy is it? It would be nice. but the problem is that he can't make up his mind. If you set the heater to 69 it will run up until the temp reaches 67 and then switch to low until the room heats up to 69, after which it will turn off. If low isn't enough and the temp drops below 67, it switches back to high. Problem? His thermostat is very sensitive, so he keeps thinking that the temperature in the room is fluctuating between 67 and 66. And when that happens, it immediately switches between high and low temperatures. High. Short. High. Short. Click. Click. Click. Click. For real? Yes indeed. This looks like a serious design oversight. and all of this switching causes premature aging of the contacts that turn the element on and off to go from high to low. Assuming the contacts do not decide to weld due to excessive wear, at that point the heater could presumably "stick" in the on position. I'm afraid this product needs to go back to the drawing board. I've attached a video demonstrating this behavior. I did not manipulate the device, the remote control or the room temperature in any way during the recording. The changing numbers on the display were the result of the device trying to decide whether the temperature in the room was 66 degrees or 67 degrees. The clicking is the sound of the high/low switch contacts inside the device.
