This filter is everything my friend said! It works exactly for what I needed it for. I have this in my partially planted 5 gallon tank (some live, some fake) and my fish couldn't be happier! as soon as I put him in the aquarium, Freckles (my cock) was hooked on it. He rested on his summit for most of yesterday. And it doesn't hit all around the tank either, which bothers me with most filters. And the filter is also very flexible in terms of the media you can put in it. Since I have plants, I simply glued on the supplied foam pad. I don't need activated carbon filters to remove nutrients! But yes, the bottom line is that it: creates a gentle flow for my plants and fish, it's quiet, flexible with filter media, and compact enough to fit in a 5 gallon aquarium. If you have 5 or more, this filter is amazing!
