I am having surgery on my left big toe and the surgeon recommended open toe sandals. Having no idea how much bandage is, I chose these sandals because the strap is adjustable. I've experimented with them before and they were a big disappointment. First, let me say that I'm a huge fan of New Balance and only wear their shoes. The problem I found is that the sandals are very uncomfortable when the strap is tight enough that my foot doesn't slide forward off the sole. Since this is true now, I suspect it will be an even bigger problem post-surgery. So these sandals didn't fit me. Conclusion: Buyers should be aware that the strap must be tight enough so that the foot does not slip off when walking. This can put a lot of pressure on the area just under your toes. It was for me so I don't recommend these sandals.
