Review on Yoyo King Merlin Ball Bearing String by John Caldwell

Hit and Miss for Yo-Yo

It's a bit difficult for me to write this review as I'm completely satisfied with my yoyo based on my purchase. The quality is good and it is exactly what I wanted. I wanted to sleep well with the yo-yo and be able to do fairly simple tricks. Something that was better than the standard Duncan in the same price range. He does it. I can put him to sleep for almost 45 seconds on my best throws. I can do a lot of tricks that I already have in my arsenal and I'm learning even more thanks to the great tutorials on YouTube. The only reason I'm deducting a star is for that. I suggested this brand to my colleague and he got the same yoyo but in the green version. The yo-yo he received was incredibly crooked when rotated. i felt bad I know it was only about $18 with shipping (yes, I'm not a Prime member), but the shock at the difference in quality was insane. Even his strings were of poor quality. And I can just see why. All of this is to say I hope his purchases were just a one off and unfortunate anomaly. My yoyo is great. The paper inside the plastic case is slightly creased, but not too noticeable. So nothing rings. I am generally very happy with my purchase. I wish I could say the same about my friends.

Pros
  • Silicone Reaction System. Ball bearing axle for extra long rotation! Includes extra yoyo cords.
Cons
  • No
