Review on Forever Car Care FB813 Black Top Gel & Foam Applicator by John Vann

Works great if you know what you're doing.

I'm a great researcher when it comes to shopping. I bought a 2013 Mustang Convertible oh my god I love this car but it looked a bit worn for my liking including the top but I was sure there were things that could make it better and bought the car a week later. return. So firstly I read some conflicting reviews and wasn't sure about this product but after using it myself I think those who didn't get it to work maybe applied it casually or did it under direct sunlight . One day I asked my friend to help me paint the room oh my god never again he had no idea how to use a paint roller. Also make sure the top or plastic you are painting on is completely cool. I don't have a garage so I chose a shady spot but one side of the top was hot from the sun and I applied the paint. It evaporated instantly and looked lighter, and then I thought of the review where someone complained about ruining their top by making it lighter. I felt the same way for a second, but was optimistic because I had made a similar mistake with a different restorer on a different item the day before. So I waited for the top coat to cool down, in the end I applied 3 coats and everything looks perfect. With this color I figured the more the merrier so I ended up doing 3 coats. I removed the stripes in the middle with the 4th half layer. So I just applied in the middle and rubbed/smeared a bit on both sides and it helped. You need gloves, it will fall on your hands. Some people have complained about the sponge, I think it's a great tool, no problem. I couldn't reach a few spots with the sponge because it was so big that I put some paint on my finger and applied it with it. A few drops on my car, if you don't notice these stains right away, wipe with a damp cloth, let dry and they come off perfectly, lightly scratching with your fingernail. Also, some complain that it doesn't remove the lighter spots. I think if you just put the first and maybe second coat on those lighter areas for prep it will cover them up nicely, you may need more coats overall to even them out. If you don't prime before painting the wall, apply 4-5 coats at the end to keep the paint looking even. Again, my top wasn't in bad shape at all, I just wanted to look new and I didn't like the light colored stitching as it made it look dark and shiny. And I have to say I find the color has darkened in a few hours. Because I originally wanted it to look darker, but after a few hours of polymerisation it actually does. Photos taken right before and after.
