Review on ๐Ÿ’ช Darco Body Armor Night Splint: Enhanced Support and Protection for Restful Recovery by Johnny Chambers

The Vogel and Cronin boot style splint probably gave me the best flexibility, stability

I have tried 3 different night splints/brace for my plantar fasciitis. The Bird and Cronin style splint probably gave me the best flex, stability, and dorsiflexion. However, the way the straps rested on top of my legs caused some temporary (hopefully) nerve damage (a tingling sensation on the top of my leg). So, not wanting permanent nerve damage, I tried the Strasbourg sock. While this was the most comfortable of all because there were no hard pieces or straps going down my foot, the only thing that really helped me was flexing my toes, which sometimes caused discomfort/tingling in my big toe at night. . Also, I'm short (5ft 1in) and the one size fits all didn't fit me very well. The hoop for the Darco bulletproof vest combines the two styles mentioned above, so to speak. This is the one I'm sticking with (combined). with lots of physical therapy and all the stretches/strengths I do at home plus heat and ice. I'm running again.) While there isn't really good dorsiflexion, it does keep the foot in almost a neutral position when the toe strap is on. You have to fiddle with the toe strap, it's still night, I have to take the toe strap off because my big toe falls asleep and it's uncomfortable. However, without a toe strap, your foot will curve more and not stay upright. I know there are reports that they are suitable for large feet. I'm a women's 7.5 and can pull them back and tighten securely around the heel which keeps them on pretty well. Long story, I haven't found the perfect night tire yet, if anyone has any other suggestions I'd love to hear them, but this is the best I could get at the moment.

Pros
  • good thing
Cons
  • Not as thick as the other options
