I was always looking for a decent art lamp, but without success. I recently bought a reproduction of Klimt's The Kiss at Giglee on a whim and was very disappointed when I received it as it looked very bland in person, especially without the metallic gold leaf of the original. Rather than sending it back I chose these inexpensive spotlights as I didn't want to see visible wires or run electrical wires through the wall. Well I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT and immediately ordered a few more headlight packs for the rest of my original paintings! Printing pigments that looked so dark and dull (no problem with the original art inks) suddenly came to life with color and a cheerful mood. I didn't particularly like the spotlight's gold accent color, which blends in with the rest of my house's rustic decor, but once installed, it's barely noticeable and actually looks pretty smooth when running. The little lights are more than bright enough than expected and I actually prefer 50% or less better than full brightness, which hopefully means I should get more hours than the advertised 50 hours on 3 AA batteries. I like the easy timer settings, and although the IR receiver's black circle rotates/hides from normal view, the remote works well at 20+ feet. I'm not sure how long the detachable velcro straps I used for the quick install will last, but so far they're holding up. I will use the included screws for a more secure install if it ever falls off and update the review if/when the strap fails. The only thing I would have liked for the fixture was a zoom function so I could focus it more on the drawing area regardless of the angle/distance set, but I still highly recommend it!
