Review on Netgear PS110 Print Server Parallel by Jeff Bruno

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Suitable for small offices

I bought this print server for my office so I can send print jobs from any of our network workstations to any of our printers without worrying if a particular workstation is powered on ( or if it works ). !). Both machines are running NT4.0. I found the installation fairly easy - just follow the instructions in the brochure. To other computers, the server basically looks like another computer with two shared printers attached. After installation, the installer must be run on each workstation to configure the machine to use the print server. Each printer has a name that can be selected as the printer or default printer in the standard Windows print dialog box. We've been using the server for a month with no problems. I am now planning to buy one for the home so I can print to printers from my laptop over WiFi without leaving other devices on all the time. Apparently some reviewers didn't consult the manual on the CD to answer their concerns as I found complete setup instructions for Unix/Linux computers. When the server is configured, there is also a web browser based administration utility. I didn't give the box 5 stars as there is no other way to remove the printer after installation other than resetting the box. If I could add one more feature, I would include the ability to print from the print server to the printer via a USB connection.
