I ordered these but some of the reviews had me a little worried. I'm glad I followed my instinct. Simply described, the bottom is metal and heavy, the top slides hard plastic but feels solid. Mine won't touch now, I use it to keep people off loose railings but as with anything if you mess with it all the time it will surely break if used around kids for example who depend on it. definitely slow down. For me it was a great product and it serves its purpose. I actually ordered two sets and ended up ordering another one because I didn't have enough length. I also ordered two frames. Definitely recommend.
