Review on Compact and Sharp: Explore the Pentax DA 40mm f/2.8 XS Lens by Emily Myers

Super compact, super clear. I LOVE this lens. It's portable enough to carry with an 18-55 on my camera, and the K-5 almost looks like a soapbox. 2.8 is sharper than expected and offers excellent depth of field wide open. From 3.5 it's sharp like a nail. Compared to its older brother, this lens has a rather high price. Other reviewers have mentioned difficulties with removal, but I've never had any problems. Until you grab the focus ring, it immediately flies away. Highly recommended for price-conscious shooters.
