The remote control for my circa 2007 Toshiba LCD TV started to wear out a few years ago. Many of the most commonly used keys no longer work. Although I have several universal remotes that work with the TV, none have all the functionality of the original remote. This one does. Unlike the universal remote, it didn't need to be programmed to "talk" to the TV. All I did was put in the batteries and point to the TV. Rescanning TV channels (important as more off-air side channels become available) is a lot easier with this remote than my universal remote. Now I only need one TV remote control, not three!
