Uhhh yeah, not worth your time and money. There doesn't need to be QC on them and it seems like some people get a diamond, other people get a bad one and most people just turn it on once and try. My problem is that it overheats after about 2 minutes and then shuts off. Also, it was very unstable and clumsy to assemble. They are essential to the job of boiling water for safe drinking if you rely on them and trusting anything like that is my biggest mistake. The guys selling this certainly don't want it to be like that, more of a backup. I wouldn't trust that, just spend 30-40 bucks and get a reliable one.
