I bought these tarpaulins to replace the original tarpaulins that had no length choices, more suitable for different camping situations like wind or rain. If the tarp stays at a given height when the wind or heavy rain can come, it's not ideal. The option of lowering the tarpaulin as required is preferred. These adjustable poles are conveniently packaged in a well-made zippered Cordura pouch, and the telescoping sections offer a wide range of heights to rotate in place. I also like the nylon/plastic tarp end caps which protect against "tarp tears" when used under the tarp and can prevent rain from getting into the tarp grommets.
