What other people say about the trunk not fitting directly into the hitch is 100% true. While tightening the bolt through the hitch keeps the rack from rocking side to side, the rack still bounces up and down a lot, which I don't think is safe to carry bikes that way. In short, I have the luxury of being a locksmith and fixing this problem myself. I have no idea why they didn't just make a bike rack exactly 2" to fit a 2" hitch with no slack, but there is about 0.105" of clearance when installed in the hitch. So to fix that. I took a piece of standard steel and ground it to exactly 0.105" (105 mils), countersunk some screws, and then drilled holes in the frame. I've heard people just put washers in the gap, but I didn't think it would go unbolted on a long ride. It fits absolutely perfectly, now it doesn't bounce at all. (Still need bungee cords to tie the bikes together) So at the end of the day my rating of this product is that I had to fix it to make it work properly, I agree, but I guess most people don't have those options . So I think if you don't have the resources or time it might be better to spend a little more and get a higher quality product that actually fits the 2" hitch. But I had the time and resources to fix it myself. I hope this review will help some people in their decision to buy this product.
