Review on Kingston Value RAM 8GB 1600MHz DDR3 (PC3-12800) Non-ECC CL11 240 Pin DIMM Memory Module by Ojasvi Sharma ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Nice price, good quality.

In general, this is a specific ambush from the manufacturer, for which I lower the rating. Normal manufacturers don't do that. Usually, if there is a need to change something in the specification, they assign a new part number, add a number / letter / something else to it - and issue a newsletter about it. Pros: Good value for money. Now I have 2 modules of 8 gigabytes in my computer - 32 gigabytes of RAM, the motherboard simply does not support more. Some cons: There is exactly one drawback, for the sake of which I am writing here to warn the people. People, be vigilant! Despite the same part number, the modules of 2022 and 2022 are significantly different from each other, and do not work in a pair (four) on the same motherboard. That is, the computer works, but periodically falls into a blue screen. Flashing the BIOS to the latest on the motherboard - does not help. This is also not treated with BIOS settings. Visually, the modules cannot be distinguished from each other, the AIDA64 program will help, section "Motherboard", subsection "SPD". As it turned out, the modules differ in their support for Partial Array Self Refresh (PASR), the 2022 modules do not support it, and the motherboard cannot figure it out. Replacing memory modules with different slots does nothing. Screenshots are attached, who is warned - he is armed!
