This fixture does not come with a template or instructions for the exact size of the hole required for ceiling mounting, so the first hole I cut was a bit too small and heavy to cut properly switch. . I probably missed 1/8 inch and had to hand file the size of the hole. Another problem is that there is only one pin to hold the mounting box to the mounting body. It broke the first time I put it in the hole in the ceiling. In comparison, Home Depot's Halo light had three pins holding the back box and came with a hole template. So be aware that this cheaper unit can cause installation problems. You get what you pay for!
