Review on Kingston Brass Lift and Lock Bath Tub Drain DLL208 - Brushed Nickel Finish by Jennifer Hartley

My installation method.fwiw

Perfect installation. A previous plumber/person messed up a previous sewage installation. Too little putty, seal of the drain shoe warped. See photos of spatulas and gasket stretching. FWIW Installation Tips: Preheat the putty with a heat gun (hand rolling of warm putty is very easy) to make it super flexible. Wash the bath thoroughly and then smear it with a thin layer of Gasacincha (imo). Line up the gasket between the tank and the drain shoe/joint, with some pressure if possible, where most installations will leak. If the gasket is off center due to the PVC drain, it will always line up perfectly with the tub. I put a drop of grease on the heated putty that's on the drain fitting, then screw it into the fitting. I've never had a single leak or failure. Period.FWIW: Pour cold putty between palms - field method. If you heat it with a hair dryer or heat gun, you allow the putty to absorb the heat directly. It should feel like chewing gum after rolling. You can test the putty by sliding a small piece between your fingers, one edge of the drake is too cold and hairline cracks will form, eventually causing water to seep between the tub and the drain shoe. Eventually, when the seal is loosened, water leaks out to the outside world (ceiling, sun floor, etc.).
