I got "serious" speakers for my first experience; based on the reviews, these are typically referred to as mid-end. In theory, this was perfect for me because I'm not yet mentally prepared to spend more than $100,000 on speakers. But, for their 70k speakers, they produce a sound that is vastly superior to that of my old speakers. In games, they emit an intriguing sound, watching a movie is enjoyable, and music is, of course, always present. I started slowly taking my collection out in lossless, but it wasn't enough, and the difference is now much more apparent. In essence, I'm unable to provide a thorough explanation in the vein of "high frequencies sound smooth and rich." as seen on specialized audiophile websites. I can only guarantee that going from inexpensive speakers to these will have a wow effect.
