I just built a new computer (first new computer in 8 years) and a friend helped me with this. He suggested that I replace the thin layer of bearing paste that was on the NZXT Kraken X63. I really didn't think it was worth the trouble but I decided to follow his advice. At the time, Arctic Silver 5 was trendy. And after some searching I found this Arctic MX-5 product and went for it. Lo and behold after cleaning all the stem paste with alcohol and coffee filters and reinstalling the AIO cooler with the MX-5 (I used the pea method) I noticed a 6 degree drop in idle temp. The build went from 40 degrees to 34 degrees after booting Win10 with no applications running. And no other configuration changes between before and after photos. I have to admit I wasn't expecting that much of an improvement, but I'm glad I followed my friend's advice and updated the thermal paste. I would use the stuff again.
