So the name. I looked at the transmission efficiency of the VS MX-4 and they are the same. However, the price is the same, which is why I decided to upgrade to a newer product. Maybe Arctic found a cheaper formula for the same performance, I don't know. I'm no expert but I can take temps and my 5800x with a 140mm dual fan air cooler stays below 80 so I'm happy.

I'm no chemist but given the number of people who have bought it I know all I need to know - it works. This is a must when installing the processor. I reapply thermal paste almost every year just to be on the safe side. It's easy, inexpensive, takes very little time, and is worth your peace of mind - especially in a decent gaming or media-heavy setup.

Gaming temperatures are around 59-60C. People may have different results, but for me the mx5 is a step backwards from the mx4, at least as far as the GPU is concerned.

Also, I had a Dell Optiplex and I replaced the thermal paste on my CPU's built-in heat spreader. I use it to replace thermal paste and get rid of dry paste that has been around for years. Another thing is that I use it when I build from scratch. I recommend this for PC builders and PC hobbyists.

This paste gets the job done. I used this on an old RX580 and immediately saw the standby temp dropped from 55 to 35 degrees, max GPU temp dropped about 5 degrees. I'm also getting good results with my new 5600x, but I think that's mainly due to the quality heatsink. With today's technology, the difference between brands of thermal paste is negligible; it almost comes down to having thermal paste or not at all, because there really isn't much more to improve.
