This is my second pump. My first lasted 13 years (my washing machine also drains to the pump so the motor has seen a lot of use in 13 years). I can say that this pump has a better design than those in years past. I feel like it's quieter. It also connected perfectly with my old toilet. The only, ONLY, annoying thing is that the outlet and vent are on opposite sides of the new pumps than the old pumps (if this is your first time installing this in a new one then don't). This is not a problem. But when you're replacing an old pump, it's a little annoying. My first thought was to hook up the blower line first with as few parts as possible, and then redo the vent line with what you need. do to make it work. Luckily all I had to do was add a 45 degree PVC elbow and a small connecting pipe to connect it to the existing drain line. To be honest it wasn't a huge problem getting around (it's just something you wish you knew beforehand so it wouldn't be a shock)). It took me about an hour and a half to put the new pump in place of the old one and start several new pieces of pipe.
