My 9 year old got this for me. That's a great little lamp. I swapped out the light bulb for an incandescent bulb because I like softer light. The dimmer also works without a 3-way bulb, which was a pleasant surprise. It has a low profile so it takes up less space on my bedside table than my old lamp. I would recommend this lamp. *UPDATE* A nuisance with this lamp. I want a three position dimmer to go from light to dark. If I want to turn off my lamp and my partner is sleeping, I have to make it brighter before it goes out. Needless to say, I heard grumbling from across the bed. But let me remind him that he helped my daughter choose.
