I don't have any Colonel Blade stuff so it's a bit difficult for me to pinch it in place to keep it in place. So I usually just bring it to my eye. The lenses are slightly recessed so they don't touch each other when placed on a flat surface. The higher the magnification, the shorter the focal length. But don't be discouraged as that is the nature of single lens magnification, regardless of manufacturer. The cell phone camera clamp is great. If your camera is within 1.5" of the top or side of your phone, the clip can be rotated so the lens is above it. Just swipe in front of your phone to see which lens is actually the camera. At first I found the price a bit high for a box of plastic parts but they seem to match the others and are of better quality than the previous one. I bought it, now everything suits me.
