Review on CTA Tools 7100 Radiator Pressure by Robert Diaz

I have finally found something that will allow me to pressure test my 1998 Jaguar XK8 with this engine (4.0 liter engine, same as XJ8). Had the included rubber pad been the right thickness I would have given 5 stars. I found I had to supplement it with another to fill the gap properly. Anyone who has often tried to find a suitable pressure test adapter will find that this is a trifle. Hey, maybe the manufacturer reads this and helps us too. This will help: Don't lose hope if you see that the rubber washers at your local tool store are a little (1/8 inch, I remember) too big. Diameter. This is easily remedied with a belt sander. Turn on the grinder, any sandpaper will do. Support the grinder securely by loosely gripping the new rubber pad with your thumb/index finger. (Obviously your fingers are nowhere near the sandpaper) Turn on the sander, align the rubber pad so it rotates in the same direction as the sandpaper, like a tire on the road. Gently touch the pad with your fingers on the rotating sandpaper, let it rotate a little slower than the sandpaper, which creates some friction - this decreases millimeter by millimeter. When you rotate it, the friction is even on all sides. After a few seconds, safely cut the new gasket to the desired diameter. Don't forget that you will need to use a vise like pliers to shut off the 1/2 inch hose that is sticking out of the back of the overflow tank. Yes, pliers can do this without damaging the flexible tubing. John
