Review on Trailer Valet Tongue Dolly Silver by Jason Sisawang

Functional, but structurally not durable!

No no no no no. In operation, the product handles maneuverability quite well. It obviously works better when going down a slight incline. Level score is ok. Mountaineering is hard work. But hey, this is superior to the alternative. The detachable cart itself is pretty damn heavy. And that requires a lot of room on your trailer's tongue and plenty of clearance around it to be able to turn in either direction if needed. Adding a second propane tank to the tongue can be deadly. This blocks the installation space and prevents rotation. In my case, this prevents the cart from staying installed at all. This creates many other problems such as handling and storage. But here's the REAL problem: The fasteners are machine welded and then powder coated. Looks very nice and is weather resistant. But the weld itself is a horror story. It was only on the third use that the fastener split in the weld, with approximately 75% of the weld failing. Only my slightly lowered tongue rest could catch my rig and prevent serious injuries! Looking at the bare metal after the weld had failed, it was clear that the metal was rusty when the weld was made. That's ridiculous. And when these things are machine welded, they fly through the manufacturing process and hit campsites everywhere with dangerous welds. For reference, my rig is a 2016 Shasta AirFlyte 16 Reissue weighing 2430 pounds with a tongue weight of just 415 pounds. UPDATE: The manufacturer, when informed, was kind enough to replace the entire bracket assembly without question. That is quality customer service. The new mount looks exactly like the one that failed, so I'm worried about the possibility of repeated failure until it shows up over time. But honor is where honor is due. It is not a problem for a manufacturer to support their product.
