Review on πŸ’¨ TRENDnet TEW-423PI Wireless G PCI Adapter - Boost Your Internet Speed to 54Mbps! by Adam Jenkins

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Excellent signal strength and speed

After reading other customer reviews I decided to buy three of these to install on three Windows XP machines. One of the machines I'm installing is a Toshiba M510D with an 866MHz PIII processor, a computer I bought in 2000. The wireless router I use is a model D-Link DI-624 Wireless G. The connection quality and signal strength are close to 100% most of the time when the router is in the next room. Internet access speed is surprisingly high and stable. This TrendNet product is absolutely amazing and the price is unbelievable. It's faster than the built-in wireless on all three of my laptops and two other D-Link computer cards. A few things you might want to adjust (fine tune) to get the best result. 1. First change the default signal channel number of your wireless router from #6 to another number. Since the wireless router operates on the 2.4GHz frequency, it will get interference from all other 2.4GHz wireless home phones when using the default #6 channel.2. To install on Windows XP, follow the instructions carefully and install the utility (including the driver) from the CD first. Then you can install the wireless PCI card on your computer. Once you turn on the computer after installing the hardware, it will let Windows in "automatic" mode install the correct driver for you. This product is definitely worth $19 and has a five star rating.
