Review on Kessaku 6 5 Inch Boning Knife Stainless by Ian Krump

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Creepy and beautiful (and cheaper than Shun)

After purchasing the Shun Classic Santoku, I started changing some other kitchen knives. Since I didn't have a boning knife, I decided to add it to my tool box. This knife comes in a beautiful packaging, obviously with great care for the product. The asymmetrical Pakkawood handle is a bit thicker than my Shun but feels good in the hand (medium/large women). The handle is also less shiny than the Shun, but can be hand washed. The blade is highly lustrous and repels water even after washing with soap. The overall size makes it suitable for even larger tasks like carving a turkey, while the fine point is for smaller, more delicate work. I am really looking forward to my next boning or filleting task. I will update this review after experimenting with the knife. So far I've only tested it on fruit. Overall I think it's excellent value for money. Too bad they didn't have a set with a knife block. Got this on sale during Cyber Monday, but even the regular price really isn't bad for what you get. Includes tip protector, velvet lined plastic case, polishing cloth and a very nice red velvet lined presentation box.
