In daylight they look artificial, like plastic. They look better in low light, except the color of the candle flame is too orange to look real. Also, the shadow of the inner mechanism appears at the base when the candles are on. Perhaps this could be disguised by wrapping the base of the candle in a pine garland or something. On the plus side, what's definitely nice about them is that the dancing 'flame' of the candle moves beautifully, creating very nice moving light patterns on the walls and ceiling above. If you find orange acceptable, you'll probably like it.
