I'm a massage therapist and I love hot lava stone massages, but I hate the prep and cleansing. When I heard about the salt stone massage, I ordered this set to try it out. I am in love with her. I have big hands and this is the perfect size for massaging and doesn't cramp my hands. I have the onset of arthritis and my hands feel better after being massaged with it - this is a subjective observation but I wouldn't mention it unless I think hard about it. At first I heated them in the microwave, but when I realized I wanted to use them all the time I bought a cheap wicker lamp to warm them up. I leave the lamp on during the day and take a warm stone whenever I feel like it. I only use them at home, so I can't speak about professional use and disinfection. But I use them non-stop and I'm so glad I found an alternative to lava rocks.
