The dimmer cord was a good replacement for my non-adjustable light cord. The cable has thicker insulation than the original. The cord is about 6 feet long and the switch is 29-30 inches from the lamp socket. To adjust the brightness of the lamp, turn the knob on the switch. Made in China. Note: What's good about this replacement cable? with a dimmer is that the lamp should last MUCH longer if you run the lamp at about 1/2 full brightness or so. The lamp filament is thicker when using a higher wattage lamp such as 25w than standard 15w lamps W, the elope a couple of weeks. I suggest getting a higher wattage bulb for this reason (25 watts is good) and just turn the brightness down and the bulb will last a very long time. You will get good heat from it and that is what is most important with salt lamps.
