I bought this to work remotely with a nearly 10 year old HP company laptop that has a display port. I had to buy a displayport to hdmi adapter and it works great. Both an HDMI cable and a laptop-powered USB cable are required to connect to non-USBC. In my case, I used the above DP to HDMI adapter because of the display port. Note: For a power source, be sure to connect to a USB port that outputs power (not all your USB ports can output enough power, and it looks like the lower of the two USB-C ports on the screen for a more modern application where a USB-C host is available, you only need one cable (USB-C to USB-C) for video and power from the host device, I have tested this screen on both ages Work laptop and and on my USBC MacBook Pro Everything works perfectly and the quality is as described by everyone It's what you would expect from a top quality brand Finally for the money this is great value I also bought a display stand , which I recommend as the included magnetic case is more for protection than convenience.
