More than ten years ago bed bugs started appearing in our home. It wasn't fun. It's been itching and itching all over my body for almost a month if I remember correctly. Steam cleaning, repeated washing at high temperatures and drying didn't help much. Bed bugs and fleas can spread throughout the home. How did we even get these bugs into our house? No idea. We're going for a hike. We also have people who come to have fun. Since we no longer wanted to deal with insect infestations, we bought mattress pads. It kind of explains why my Asian parents never remove the plastic from their mattresses - not just to keep the surface spotless, but to keep it waterproof and bug-proof. But it looks like a ghetto. We also use these lids to prevent our children from accidentally leaking while they are still on the potty. The purchase is worthwhile. Insects didn't exist for a long time.
