It broke within five minutes, the rubber melted

First off, the original fairing that came with my Bosch multi-tool lasted two years and tens or tens of hours of sanding. This replacement didn't last the life of a piece of sandpaper, less than five minutes, although the only pressure on the pad was the weight of the tool itself. Something is wrong with the manufacturing process or the materials used in the replacement. And unfortunately, non-original pads do not fit the Bosch "Starlock" mechanism.
