Review on Create Realistic Skin Tones With Derwent ColourSoft Skintone Pencils In A Metal Tin - 6 Count by Mike Bray

Revainrating 5 out of 5

EXCELLENT for any colour work, soft and very pliable, can use many layers for depth. I generally do realism.

EXCELLENT for any colour work, soft and very pliable, can use many layers for depth. My first Derwents were a full box of all colours available when I was a kid growing up in Australia in the 1960's, I love these more than the "Artist" because they "artist" ones are much tougher on paper, very waxy so great for minute denial, fine lines. You can get the same from these, but I also love the Water colour pencils, Inketense, have a full set of each of those, including the Animal Drawing Pencil set of 24. Cannot go wrong with Derwentand I thin they are very much underestimated in the community, everyone raves about Prismacolour, but I am a fan of Derwent. Derwent Colored Drawing Pencils, Metal Tin, 24 Count (0700672) I also just bought the Prismacolour softs to compare. Will review once used.I generally do realism.

Pros
  • The six-count pack provides an excellent selection of colors, allowing for a range of tones to be created
Cons
  • Prone to breaking with sharpener
