Lovely & Affordable Colored Pencils!

I love these pencils! The colors are beautiful and can be mixed together for various shades. They blend easily and lay down very fast. I would recommend using the coloursoft pencils with paper that have more tooth, rather than smooth paper, since they won't be able to hold the blending and layering that well. Also, I would advise against using solvents, rubbing alcohol, thinning agents, etc. as I find them to muddy up the colors, and why ruin already vibrant and beautiful colors? It's best to…

Pros
  • Drawing Media
Cons
  • Difficult to sharpen without breaking

The Best Colored Pencil

Coloursoft pencils are my favorite. I own other brands and I find that one of the most popular is just too waxy. Not the Coloursoft. They are wax based but don't give off that waxy bloom as soon as other brands. (Always keep a light touch and build layers .that is a big secret when using colored pencils of all brands). The Colours are so vibrant. I don't have to push hard to get the pigment out. They are highly pigmented. I own more Derwent products than any other brand. I am so happy I bought…

Great choice colors for skin

This is a nice selection. It really can do many skintones. Search online for the derwent tutorial showing how to use this kit for 3 portraits, one Caucasian, one Asian, one African descent. Also, if you bought one of the smaller sets, like me, it adds some useful colors for nature and floral, brown, neutral and pink. AlsoI delayed this review so I could test lightfastness in my window for a couple of months. As usual with Derwent, they low ball themselves a little with how long the colors last.

Pros
  • COLOUR BLENDING – Due to their enhanced formulation, these pencils are highly blendable. Create a range of subtly different shades by blending colours together. Perfect for still-life drawings.
Cons
  • Expensive compared to other pencil brands

Derwent, by far my favorite.

I have been looking for Cooler pencils/ art pencils that were in some kind of container/box other then a metal one that maybe they would come in. I have found in the past that the quality and brand of art pencils do make a difference. Unfortunately, the brands I love were out of my price range. Until, I stumbled across these I Love Derwent products and you can definitely see their quality. Price was amazingly priced-(Deal, Price cut, special pricing?). this buy was a no brainer!

Pros
  • Derwent is a trusted brand known for producing high-quality art supplies
Cons
  • Color fades quickly

You won't regret it.

These are probably the best colored pencils I've used by far. I've been using Prismacolor Softcore for years but the points always break very easily, even while sharpening. I guess it was a convenience factor and it was the only ones available at my local store when i was younger so i stuck with it.Recently I've decided to use color again but i didn't want to go through the frustrations i had to prisma and decided to go with Derwent Coloursoft ( since i have a set of the graphite and they are…

Pros
  • The colors are long-lasting and do not fade easily
Cons
  • Difficult to get a smooth gradient

Nice for begginers: my feedback

I really like this set. I love adult coloring but I am no artist so when it comes to doing faces or flesh I could never figure out how choose the colors out of the larger sets that I have. It always seemed that I chose wrong. Now when I have to color a face I can just reach for these instead of agonizing over trying to find the right colors. The price is really good for the convenience this will offer me. I plan to watch some of the tutorials online about coloring flesh now that I have the set…

Pros
  • The pencils are of excellent quality and don't break or smudge easily, making them perfect for professional use
Cons
  • Not suitable for use on textured paper

Love the pencils, except for the size problem

These are great for a beginner. I have no clue how to do skin tones yet but these say the color on each pencil, which sort of guides you. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because they provide you with a sharpener that the pencils don't quite fit and the sharpener is likely to crack, but it's just the plastic and I find it makes it easier to use on the pencils. It's difficult to find a sharpener for these because they are a little bigger than a standard pencil and smaller than a jumbo…

Pros
  • The metal tin packaging keeps the pencils clean and organized, making them easy to transport and store
Cons
  • Produces scratchy texture

Great colors; smooth blending

This tin does not come with many colors, but they colors it does come with are great. In particular, I wish there were more lighter skin tones. Aside from that, the pencils themselves are very good quality and the colors are useful for portraits or figure drawing.

Pros
  • The soft texture of the pencils makes it easy to create subtle shading and smooth transitions between tones
Cons
  • Not suitable for use on glossy paper

The colors look great

If you are looking for colored pencils that glide on your paper smoothly then these are for you. The colors are rich and really make your drawing quality so much better. I love these.

Pros
  • Drawing
Cons
  • Difficult to get a consistent color

Wonderful to work with!

I absolutely LOVE these pencils. (I do wish there were more colors; I'd happily spend more for more variety.) I took off one ⭐ because the top row's wooden sticks were not set in right, so the first five pencils were loose and floating about. This (I assume) was what caused the very first pencil's tip to be broken off by about 3/4's of an inch. I do like my new supplies to be perfect. 😍 I don't suppose there is anything to be done about it except to see if I can find an open-stock one.

Pros
  • These pencils are a must-have for artists who want to create realistic and believable skin tones
Cons
  • Not worth the investment

EXCELLENT for any colour work, soft and very pliable, can use many layers for depth. My first Derwents were a full box of all colours available when I was a kid growing up in Australia in the 1960's, I love these more than the "Artist" because they "artist" ones are much tougher on paper, very waxy so great for minute denial, fine lines. You can get the same from these, but I also love the Water colour pencils, Inketense, have a full set of each of those, including the Animal…

Pros
  • The six-count pack provides an excellent selection of colors, allowing for a range of tones to be created
Cons
  • Prone to breaking with sharpener
