Great for beginners
Great pens, but like many other calligraphy pens, they take a little practice to master. For people who have trouble with ink not coming out, I recommend putting it in the slot and closing the pen, then grabbing it with both hands and rolling it around like you're lighting a stick for about a minute. After that, remove the top and press down on paper, preferably thick or insulated paper, to keep it from seeping through. Take a paper towel or tissue paper to remove any excess ink that may have coated the pen.
