I like the pens, but the book that comes with it is useless. It doesn't even tell you how to use these pens, but gives instructions for completely different calligraphy pens.

ink does not drip onto the tip of the pen, making it difficult to use. Often they don't even write because of the ink. The handle is very cheap. I would not recommend this one. Invest in a more expensive one.

The guide includes step-by-step instructions and common mistakes for 4 different styles, as well as instructions for 4 projects (invitation, quote, postcard, and I can't remember that last remember ). Practice paper, instruction sheets and all necessary materials are included.

This was a good value calligraphy set and I bought this for my daughter to see if she loves calligraphy. It arrived and looked very good in the packaging. There were no instructions on how to use the pens, and when the cartridges were inserted into the pens, they would not feed. No ink came out! It might have been an ink error, but nothing worked to get the ink to flow.

Doesn't work at all. How serious. apply ink. Nothing has happened. Zero poof! Any tip, any cartridge could not make any of them work. The booklet was not helpful. In fact, the tips were not the same as those included in the kit. 100% WASTED money. Very disappointed. Was a Christmas present for my daughter. What a disappointment. :(

Great pens, but like many other calligraphy pens, they take a little practice to master. For people who have trouble with ink not coming out, I recommend putting it in the slot and closing the pen, then grabbing it with both hands and rolling it around like you're lighting a stick for about a minute. After that, remove the top and press down on paper, preferably thick or insulated paper, to keep it from seeping through. Take a paper towel or tissue paper to remove any excess ink that may have…

The price of the set corresponds to its value. This is a good starter kit. If you are experienced in this field, you will not like these pens. But they're still decently made and come with a practice pad, instructions, two pens, nibs and cartridges. I'm gifting this to anyone who has shown an interest and I hope they enjoy writing it! I have another starter set from this brand and am considering this one too - a good starter set for the price of a set.

The manual that comes with this set is not really a step-by-step guide to improving your writing, but rather an overview of common writing styles with some room for practice. There are many resources on the internet as well as other Revain books that cover the basics very well.
